THE WELLELSEY ARMS

Inn The Sticks

Modern hospitality in a magnificent old country inn - a place for feasting, drinking and getting together with friends and family in an atmospheric village pub. Positioned in the heart of Sutton Benger, Wiltshire, close to the Cotswolds and only a few minutes drive from junction 17 of the M4, we serve great drinks and seasonal food in a relaxed and warm setting.

What we do

We provide a contemporary approach to hospitality in a traditional country pub - a welcoming, warm and friendly informal dining and drinking experience.

When eating with us you can expect candles, linen napkins, music, chatting and laughter. While in the winter the fires are lit, all playing their part in creating the atmosphere that our pubs have become known for. As a diner at one of our village pubs, we offer an attentive yet not intrusive approach to table service. We are always on hand if you need us, we welcome you to give us a wave, a quick nod, or even come to the bar.

The Pub

The traditional bar area is very much the heart of our pub, you will be welcomed by the low lit bar in the middle of the pub, oak parquet flooring, original mullion windows with the original open fireplace in the centre of the room, where during colder months the fire will be roaring. We serve a great mix of drinks, ales, wines, and non-alcoholic and seasonal drinks.

The bar is an atmospheric place to be enjoyed with friends and family, not forgetting your dogs. Relax here and while away the hours enjoying conversation, playing cards, listening to our music, chatting and laughing with locals.

Our Dining Rooms

The Snug dining room is tucked around the corner behind the bar, this is a small intimate dining room with a magnificent open fireplace that has been reinstated. The tables have been positioned carefully so everyone dining can enjoy the fire flickering and crackling away whilst they dine in colder months.

The lower dining room is bigger, brighter and leads off of the main bar, this is a wonderful space again with a fireplace and a wood burner at the far end.

All of the rooms are really rather different but painted in the same dramatic colour with low lighting throughout, making this 18th-century country pub a wonderfully atmospheric place to enjoy with friends and family.
